VERSACE AT THE MET GALA 2019 - CAMP: NOTES ON FASHION

This year’s exhibition “Camp: Notes on Fashion” was inspired by Susan Sontag’s seminal essay “Notes on Camp”, defining camp as the love of the frivolous, the unnatural, artifice and exaggeration. Co-host Serena Williams' #MetGala look is crafted from innovative fabric with fluorescent properties. The boustier corset dress, detachable skirt and draped cape feature appliqué of the heritage Ivy motif - embroidered in organza with thread and Swarovski crystals Kylie Jenner attends the Met Gala in a strapless Atelier Versace mermaid silhouette gown with a feather trim and matching hat. The dress is completely hand-embroidered with Swarovski crystals in a chain pattern. Kendal Jenner chose an #AtelierVersace gown crafted from a sheer tulle base enriched with chevron-pattern crystal embroidery. She pairs the dress with a matching feather trim, delicately crafted by hand. Jennifer Lopez arrives to the pink carpet wearing an Atelier Versace gown hand-beaded with degradé Swarovski crystals, opal and macro-paillettes, complete with a matching head piece. She was accompanied by Alex Rodriguez, wearing a bespoke blush pink suit. Lupita Nyong'o celebrated the #MetCamp theme in an Atelier Versace column gown crafted from star-shaped macramé enriched with crystals in fuchsia tones. She paired the dress with a sculptural, hand-brushed organza cape enriched with bejeweled buttons and a matching folding fan. Dua Lipa wears an iconic neckline, embroided bodysuit, leggings and flowing duchesse overskirt in a high-low silhouette. #VersaceCelebrities
