Marina Testino for the rag & bone D.I.Y. Project
The DIY Project, originally created in Spring 2011 and now reintroduced for Spring 2018, flips the traditional photo shoot on its head. An ongoing creative initiative, for which each subject is given a camera, a bag of clothes – all with the same remit – to interpret rag & bone in their own way. “The DIY Project was designed to focus on individuality and authenticity, two elements that have always been at the core of rag & bone. It’s awesome to see such a fascinating group of people translate personal style in their own way,” MARINA TESTINO Marina, a recent graduate of Parsons School of Design, has possessed a lifelong interest in fashion and its constant state of reinvention. She’s been featured in WWD and Vogue, to name a few, and has lived and studied in Barcelona, Paris, London, Boston, and New York. She spent time in Lima, Peru - her father’s birthplace - to work on collaborative capsule collections with local artisans. A main focus for Marina in the future is to celebrate Peru’s rich heritage of craftsmanship and talent - and to share it globally through her own unique lens. Influenced by her upbringing, Marina is constantly inspired by the passion and dedication that goes into making a fashion image behind-the-scenes, and she is excited to be part of a team of “creative problem solvers.”
