For several years Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have chosen to present their collections of high fashion Dolce & Gabbana, high jewellery and haute couture around the world, far from the most traditional locations. Recent examples include Capri, Palermo, London, Tokyo and New York.
This year however, the designers have chosen to present their latest collection of Dolce & Gabbana High Fashion in the picturesque northern Italian city of Como, a long-time favorite of Hollywood stars home of the famous Lake Como and located at the base of the Alps moutains.
A highly anticipated event, this year's show will be held in Villa Olmo, where the iconic fashion house will recreate a "souvenir card" like, magical 1930s atmosphere. Picture sophisticated looks, lightweight chiffon skirts matched with vintage t-shirts, floating dresses, sneakers and a range of precious accessories for good measure.
All of the details have yet to be revealed, but don't despair: Dolce & Gabbana will be inaugurating a pop-up boutique in the meantime, exotically set on Lake Como's historic steamship "Patria", one of the oldest motors dating back to 1926. The pop up will be open from July 4th to 10th.
Here, and only here, Dolce & Gabbana's Special Collections (Woman, Man and Child) are available for sale, with pieces being spread out on the upper, medium and lower decks of the steamer whose interiors have been decorated with white and blue striped coatings for the occasion.
The cherry on top of it all: a Martini Bar awaits on the terrace of the upper deck.
Furnished with canvas chairs, deckchairs and striped parasols to match the pop up, the bar is the ideal place to enjoy a warm summer breeze and a romantic lake view while savoring the delicious home-made Martini Extra Dry cocktails.
