As part of his debut collection as artistic director of Dior Homme, Kim Jones has begun reinterpreting Monsieur Dior's style codes. New energy and color invigorate the Parisian fashion house, hinting at a new definition of contemporary luxury for the label.
Among the new collection's many objects of desire, the label's new vision for its accessories has caught our attention the most: more specifically, we were stunned by the new bags that Dior paraded on its models during the 2019 Spring Summer collection.
In a bold move to keep the label's offering on the edge of luxury, Kim Jones played with a new take on a panel of Dior's iconic Saddle bag, re-imagining many of its classic models, from cross-bodies to backpacks and pouches.
The purity of these new designs is complimented by its many functional elements, from Maxi applied pockets to steel belts, and are made from soft leather elegantly highlighted by colorful, contrasting seams. The cherry on top: the bag's rivets are customized with Dior's original logo from its 1999 saddle Bag, in a spirited throwback to the label's older days.
