Last February, Fila collaborated with Fendi in its 2018-2019 Fall-Winter collection. Next September, the sportswear giant will be putting on its very own runway show at Milan Fashion Week.
Fila, the sportswear label popularized in the '90s by the likes of West Coast rappers Tupac Shakur and LL Cool J, will make its runway debut at Milan Fashion Week in September.
After Fendi invited Fila to collaborate on a capsule collection last Milan Fashion Week and after several collaborations with creators such as Jason Wu, Anna Sui and Gosha Rubchinskiy, the sportswear giant has brought on former Adidas Originals designers Antonino Ingrasciotta and Joseph Graesel as creative directors in an attempt to formally enter the high fashion arena.
"Their background perfectly matches sports and fashion," said Fila Global chairman Gene Yoo. "Starting from the Fila archive, they're working on a collection that aims to bring the brand to the next level, connecting the past with its future."
What to expect? A women's ready-to-wear line 100% dedicated to streetwear, with a modern take on the brand's heritage offering.
